Civil Service Prelims 2022 will be conducted by the UPSC on June 5. Those candidates who qualify the prelims will then appear in the mains.
Civil Service Exam (CSE) notifications for 2022 have been released by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). The notification includes information about the application window, eligibility criteria, exam pattern, and number of vacancies. There are 861 vacancies listed by the commission. Candidates can apply through the website - upsc.gov.in. or upsconline.nic.in.
The application process will remain open till February 22, 6 pm. The UPSC will conduct the Civil Service prelims 2022 exam on June 5.

Eligibility Criteria
For IAS and IPS posts, candidates must be Indian citizens. Other people can be Indian citizens, Nepalese, Bhutanese, or Tibetan refugees. Check more for the official notification.
Educational qualification: A graduate of an institution incorporated by an Act of the State Legislature or Central Legislature in India, or another educational institution established by an Act of Parliament, or declared a university under Section-3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956, or possess an equivalent qualification is required.
Paper Pattern
The preliminary test consists of two papers. In the objective type, multiple choice questions are asked that carry a total of 400 marks. In the general studies paper – II, a candidate has to qualify with a minimum of 33 per cent marks.
There is a negative mark for every question equal to one-third of the mark assigned to that question. Examiners provide questions from seven test areas, including science and technology, history and culture, geography, Indian polity, Indian economy, environment, and current events of national and international importance.
