PhD in Two Subjects can now be Done at the Same Time

Students will be authorised to do interdisciplinary Ph.D. research in two or more academic fields, according to the University Grants Commission (UGC). All of the universities and other higher education institutions in the nation have been advised by the UGC of the new PhD regulations. The standing committee will gather data on the choice of certain institutions, faculty recruitment, and PhD degree awarding, according to the UGC. Additionally, the committee will check the papers to make sure they adhere to UGC regulations at these universities. The Common University Entrance Test (CUET), which is the basis for many universities' Ph.D. admission policies. Delhi University is one among them.
After making CUET a requirement for postgraduate students, Delhi University has now decided to admit students to PhD programmes solely on the basis of CUET. However, employees of Delhi University who are both teaching and non-teaching personnel are eligible to attend the Ph.D. admissions interview in person. As in the academic year 2023–2024, Delhi University will work with the National Testing Agency (NTA), which will administer the CUET exams for Ph.D. candidates. 'CUET Ph.D.' will be the name of these tests.
In a related development, students at the central university will be permitted to take two courses concurrently under the new Education Policy.
