National Means cum Merit Scholarship Scheme

The deadline to apply for the National Means Cumulative Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMCMSS) has been extended to October 31, 2022.
These scholarships are given to deserving students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in order to prevent them from dropping out in Class 8 and encourage them to continue their education at the secondary level.
Every year, one lakh new scholarships are awarded to selected students in Class 9 for continuation or renewal in Classes 10 to 12 for students enrolled in state government, government-aided, and local body schools.The scholarship is worth Rs 12000 per year.

The National Merit Scholarship Scheme (NMMSS) is listed on the National Scholarship Portal (NSP), which is a one-stop shop for scholarship opportunities for students.NMMSS scholarships are disbursed directly into selected students' bank accounts via electronic transfer via the Public Financial Management System (PFMS) in DBT mode.
This is a scheme that is entirely funded by the government.
ELIGIBILITY
Students who have a total parental income of less than Rs 3,50,000 per year are eligible for the scholarship.
Students must have a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent grade in Class 7 to be eligible to take the scholarship selection test (relaxable by 5% for SC/ST students).
IMPORTANT DATE INFORMATION
The deadline for applying for the scholarship is October 31.The deadline for INO level (L1) and DNO level (L2) verification is November 15, 2022, and November 30, 2022, respectively.
