List of states with the greatest number of registrations for JEE Main 2023 session 1

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will start accepting applications for the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) 2023 session 2 on February 7 and will end on March 7. Session 2 examinations will be held on April 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12, 2023. Interested candidates can register for the second session at jeemain.nta.nic.in, the official JEE website.
JEE Main session 1 results are also anticipated to be released soon. Before we get to the score card, let's see which states have reported the most registrations for the January session.
This year, the NTA received a total of 9.06 lakh registrations, with 6.28 lakh male applicants, 2.77 female candidates, and just three individuals registering under the 'third gender' category (who hail from Bihar, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh).
Maharashtra has had the highest registrations for the session 1 examinations. According to the NTA data, 1.06 lakh students registered from the state, including 72,013 male applicants and 34,093 female candidates.

Following Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh had the second highest number of registrations (1.03 lakh) for the January session. In UP, there were 81,221 male candidates, 22,745 female candidates, and one third-gender candidate. Andhra Pradesh is a close third in terms of registrations, with 98,418 candidates – 59,819 male pupils and 38,599 female hopefuls.
Telangana had the fourth largest number of candidates (92,371), with 55,933 male candidates and 36,438 female candidates. However, the fifth highest registrations fell by about 30,000, with Rajasthan reporting 60,760. (48,790 male and 11,970 female students).

In contrast to the 2022 tests, the overall number of registrants for session 1 has increased by 3.84 percent this year. A total of 8.72 lakh applicants enrolled for the JEE Main session 1 test in 2022, with 7.69 lakh taking the exam.
According to NTA data, 10.2 lakh distinct individuals registered for sessions 1 and 2, and 9.05 lakh people took the exam.
