India will establish its first IIT abroad in the UAE

A part of the India-UAE trade deal signed on February 18 will involve the establishment of an Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in the United Arab Emirates. IIT will be the first in the country to be established outside of the country.
Indian has 23 IITs, which are regarded as top institutes and offer a variety of degree programmes, from BTech to doctorate. IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Madras are among the top IITs in India.
Piyush Goyal, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry, signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with the delegation led by UAE Ministers of Economy, Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, and Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi.
As part of the deal, the two nations will also set up an India-UAE cultural council to promote cultural exchanges, exhibitions, as well as other projects.
India and the United Arab Emirates have also agreed to support each other's clean energy mission and set up a hydrogen task force to scale up technologies, primarily that of producing green hydrogen.
