IRMS exam recruitment to be done through UPSC Civil Services exam
February 04, 2023
The Ministry of Railways has decided to fill positions in the Indian Railway Management Service through the UPSC Civil Services examination. The IRMS recruiting test has been discontinued, and the UPSC civil services will serve as the qualifying exam for IRMS.
A day after the presentation of the Union Budget 2023-24, the Ministry of Railways decided to select candidates in conjunction with the UPSC and the DoPT.
Earlier in December, the Ministry said that applicants will be hired through the IRMS test, which would be administered by UPSC. According to the government, the UPSC Civil Services Prelims exam will serve as a qualifying examination for the IMRSE Mains exam. The test format will be similar to CSE in terms of syllabus, paper pattern, age restriction, and so on.
Meanwhile, registration for the UPSC Civil Services began on February 1, 2023 and will end on February 21, 2023. Candidates who wish to apply for the test may do so online at upsc.gov.in, the UPSC's official website.
The UPSC preliminary test will be held on May 28, 2023. This recruiting effort will fill 1105 openings this year. The application correction window will be open from February 22 until February 28, 2023. Candidates may get more information on the UPSC official website.
