CAT 2021 Analysis

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad conducted the Common Admission Test (CAT) on November 28. The exam was held in three slots in computer-based mode. Slot 1 of the exam was conducted from 8:30 am – 10:30 am, the timing for slot 2 was 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm, and slot 3 was held from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm.
CAT consisted of three sections, Quantitative Ability (QA), Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension (VARC), and Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning (DILR).
The data interpretation and logical reasoning sections were a little difficult and time-consuming. There were some changes in reading comprehension passages with the dominance of inference based questions. Students found the exam of moderate difficulty level. The total number of questions in the CAT 2021 exam was less in comparison to the usual previous year trends. CAT marking scheme remained the same. Each correct attempt has three marks and each wrong attempt gets a negative marking of one mark. All slots were of 66 total marks each and were moderately difficult.
