VNIT Nagpur Admission Process 2021

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur admissions are offered to B.Tech, B.Arch, M.Sc, M.Tech and PhD programmes and Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Humanities & Social Sciences, Applied Mechanics, Centre for VLSI and Nanotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mining Engineering and Architecture are the 15 academic departments of VNIT Nagpur offering these courses. VNIT admissions to B.Tech/B. Arch course are offered based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main). Further, aspiring candidates have to register for JoSAA counselling for participating in the choice filling, choice locking and seat allotment. The institute also offers admissions to M.Tech, M.Plan and M.Arch on the basis of GATE scores followed by participation in CCMT counselling process ( CCMT (Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./ M.Arch./ M.Plan). Admissions to M.Sc programmes are offered by VNIT Nagpur on the basis of JAM followed by participation in the JAM counselling process. Admissions to doctoral programme are based on past academic records, written test and interview conducted by the institute. The final stage of admission to all courses of VNIT Nagpur comprises of document verification and fee payment. A brief description about the VNIT admission procedure is given below.

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur Admission Procedure for B.Tech/B.Arch programmes:

• Candidates have to appear for JEE Main and secure the cut-off rank.

• Candidates then have to appear for JoSAA/CSAB counselling, where they will do the choice filling for the programmes and colleges they want admission in.

• In JoSAA/CSAB counselling, candidates are shortlisted based on their JEE Main rank.

• Final selection for VNIT admissions will be done through JoSAA/CSAB counselling, based on choice filling, option locking, document verification and fee payment.

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur Admission Procedure for M.Tech programmes:

• Candidates have to appear for GATE Entrance Exam.

• Candidates then have to appear for CCMT counselling, where they will do the choice filling for the programmes and colleges they want admission in.

• Shortlisting of candidates is done in CCMT counselling, based on their GATE rank.

• Shortlisted candidates will be offered admission.

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur Admission Procedure for M.Sc programmes:

• Candidates have to appear for JAM Entrance Exam.

• Candidates then have to appear for counselling, where they will do the choice filling for the programmes and colleges they want admission in.

• Shortlisting of candidates is done in counselling, based on their IIT-JAM Exam score.

• Shortlisted candidates will be offered VNIT admissions.

Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur Admission Procedure for PhD programmes:

• Candidates have to register for admission at VNIT Nagpur website.

• Eligible candidates will be shortlisted based on their past academic records. 

• Shortlisted eligible candidates will have to appear for a Written Test.

• Candidates who are shortlisted from the Written Test will have to appear for an Interview.

• Final selection for Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur admissions will be done on the basis of performance in Interview.

• 100% Tuition Fee waiver for SC/ST/PH students.
• Full remission of the Tuition Fee for General and OBC students whose family income is less than ₹1 lakh per annum.
• Remission of 2/3rd of the Tuition Fee for General and OBC students whose family income is between ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh per annum.
