About IIT Tirupati
Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati) laid its foundation stone in March 2015. It started running with the support of it’s supporting institute, IIT Madras in 2015-16 which was launched in August 2015 by admitting students in the B.Tech programme in the fields of Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. The institute has also launched programmes in B.Tech Chemical Engineering and M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Science disciplines from August 2018. Courses in IIT Tirupati are introduced to nurture innovation, creativity, quality, teamwork, communication skills, ethics and societal interaction. MS and PhD programmes have started from the academic year 2017-18.

The transit campus of IIT Tirupati is located in Tirupati–Renigunta road which is located 5 km from the Tirupati town, 4 km from Renigunta Railway Junction and 8 km from Tirupati Airport. The permanent campus of IIT Tirupati is located in Merlapaka village, Yerpedu (Mandal), Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. The nearest stations to Merlapaka village are Rachagunneri Railway Station and Yerpedu Railway Station. Students can take an auto from the station and reach the institute campus. The nearest airport from the institute is the Tirupati International Airport which is 10.5 km away and students can reach the campus in about 18 mins.

Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati Admission Procedure:-
Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati admissions are offered to B.Tech programme in the fields of Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. B.Tech Chemical Engineering and M.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical and Computer Science are the newly introduced courses. MS and PhD programmes are also offered by IIT Tirupati. Admission to B.Tech/B.E programmes is offered by IIT Tirupati on the basis of scores JEE Advanced and candidates qualifying JEE Advanced will further have to register for JoSAA counselling for participating in the choice filling, choice locking and seat allotment. Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati admissions to M.Tech programmes are offered on the basis of GATE. The institute also offers admission to M.Sc programmes on the basis of JAM followed by participation in the JAM counselling process. Admission to the doctoral programme is offered on the basis of Written Test conducted by Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati followed by Personal Interview. The last stage of admission of all the courses offered by Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati comprises participation in the counselling process, document verification and fee payment. IIT Tirupati Admission Procedure for B.Tech/B.E programmes-
- Students seeking admission to this programme have to appear and qualify for the Joint Entrance Exam Advanced.
- Based on their scores in JEE Advanced, candidates have to register for JoSAA counselling on the official website of JoSAA.
- Candidates have to select IIT Tirupati as their preferred college while doing the choice filling and locking in the counselling.
- Candidates will be offered IIT Tirupati admissions to B.Tech/BE programmes on the basis of JoSAA registration, participation in counselling, choice filling, choice locking, document verification and fees payment.
IIT Tirupati M.Tech/M.E Admission Process-
- Candidates seeking admission to this programme need to appear and qualify GATE or should have a bachelor’s degree from any IIT with a CGPA of 8.0.
- Based on their qualifying scores and eligibility criteria, students have to proceed for the counselling that is conducted to admit students to this programme.
- Candidates need to register themselves for counselling by providing their exam credentials, qualifying degrees, personal details etc. and paying the requisite registration fee on the official website of IIT Tirupati.
- Candidates who fulfil the necessary eligibility criteria will then be offered admission to courses based on their choices in the order of merit.
- Verification of documents and payment of fees has to be done for getting admission to these programmes.
IIT Tirupati Admission Process for M.Sc programmes-
- Students interested in admissions to M.Sc programmes, need to appear and qualify for the JAM examination.
- Students have to register themselves for JAM counselling on the official website along with required details, documents and do the necessary payment of fees.
- Students need to select IIT Tirupati while doing the choice filling in the counselling process.
- IIT Tirupati admissions will be offered after the verification of documents and payment of fees.
IIT Tirupati Admission Procedure for PhD/M.S programmes-
- Candidates seeking admission for this programme need to clear the written test conducted by the respective departments.
- Candidates who qualify the written test, need to appear for an interview related to their research area.
- Based on the marks scored by candidates in their written test and interview, merit list of the eligible candidates will be released by the authority.
- Candidates whose selection will be approved by the authority will be allowed admission by paying the requisite fee on the stipulated date.
