IIT Kanpur Admission

Firstly candidates have to appear and qualify JEE Advanced and then they have to register on the official website of Joint Seat Allocation Authority for participating in the JoSAA counselling.
Aspiring candidates have to participate in the JoSAA counselling and do the choice filling wherein they have to choose the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur as their first preference. After the filling of choices, they are locked and then seats are allotted to the students on the basis of the choices filled in by them.

The institute will be the first IIT to have a full-fledged department of Cognitive Science. The newly launched department will help students to build their careers in human performance, artificial intelligence, business, healthcare, data analysis, government intelligence, information processing, law, marketing, product design, and software design. The idea of launching a department dedicated to the study of Cognitive Science emerged in the year 2019 when Cognitive Science Experts team visited the campus as a part of the National Advisory Committee and the proposal was approved on December 7, 2020, at the meeting of the Board of Governors held.
