The NIRF was approved by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and inaugurated by the honourable minister of human resource development back in September 2015. MBBS Course Duration in India
The course duration of MBBS in India is almost 5.5 years having 1 year of rotation internship. It is mandatory to complete the internship until students will not awarded as of medical professional. The MBBS academic program lasts 4.5 years and has a total of 9 semesters. NMC (National Medical Commission) is the only MBBS course certification body in India. The national Medical Commission is responsible for organizing/modifying MBBS courses in India.

To get admission in MBBS or do any of the courses in this field then medical aspirants need to appear in the NEET Exam (MBBS Entrance Exam). NEET is also known as National Eligibility cum Entrance Test conducted by NTA (National Testing Agency) for medical undergraduate program MBBS. 2. Christian Medical College & Hospital (CMC), Vellore
Christian Medical College was established in 1900 by Dr. Ida S. Scudder. Located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, it is recognized as one of India’s best private medical colleges. Admission to the PG program is based on the NEET PG 2021 entrance exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations.
3. Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune
Armed Forces Medical College is a premier medical institute of India acknowledged as a centre of excellence for education and research. The college provides training to under-graduate and post-graduate medical and nursing students with assured career prospects in the defence services.
The institute was set up on 01 May 1948 by the recommendations of the BC Roy Committee by the amalgamation of various defence medical organizations. The "Graduate Wing" of AFMC was established on 04 August 1962 to provide a sustainable and steady intake of medical officers for the Indian Armed Forces. The institute is presently affiliated to the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences and is recognized by the MCI for conducting undergraduate and various post graduate medical courses.
4. Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), New Delhi
The institute is currently ranked 3rd in the country by India Today & Times of India, and is spread over a campus occupying 122 acres. Attached to the college are four hospitals – Lok Nayak Hospital, GB Pant Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research, Maulana Azad Institute of Dental sciences and Guru Nanak Eye Center. It is one of the best places for learning with 2800 beds, 7200 daily outpatient attendance and 47 operation theatres running daily. It caters to 290 undergradtuate students, 245 post graduate and post doctoral students per year being trained by 426 faculty members and 810 resident doctors.
5. Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry
The roots for the origin of Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER) can be traced back to the ‘Ecole de Medicine de Pondicherry’ established by the French Government in 1823. But it was only in 1964 that the hospital was officially inaugurated. JIPMER is one among the very few institutions providing teaching from undergraduate to super specialty & sub-specialties, conducting path-breaking research, and providing specialty care of the highest order.
