Students from India seeking higher education overseas are quickly expanding, outpacing domestic student growth by more than six times in the previous years. This is predicted to more than quadruple by 2024, reaching 1.8 million students who will spend USD 75-85 billion abroad. The majority of students are pursuing postgraduate studies in Anglophone countries, and this trend is projected to continue.
Student Outflow: Popular Destinations
According to a recent MEA reply in parliament, Canada has emerged as the top choice for students opting to go abroad for higher studies. This is due to more liberal immigration policies, as well as high educational and living standards.
USA closely follows Canada as the second most favoured destination for overseas studies. While the number of students travelling to the United States for higher education had slowed in recent years owing to more stringent regulations by the previous administration, international student inflows are likely to recover within the foreseeable period since the United States now faces an acute shortage of skilled workers post pandemic and has rolled back many of the restrictions imposed previously.
Given below are the details of the top-10 destinations for Indians going abroad for higher education:

Popular Courses
According to research, the majority of the students have enrolled in Post Graduate studies. This pattern can be attributed to several reasons.
Postgraduate courses are often more professional in nature, allowing for better entry into the workforce. Furthermore, they enable comprehension of the nation and company culture, which assists in settling down.
Furthermore, recent research has indicated an increased desire for postgraduate degrees among those entering the professional field. The emergence of new professions and roles need regular updating, and one of the key drivers for this is the deepening of previously acquired knowledge and abilities.
